My journey has been a unique blend of design expertise and engineering. I spent a significant chapter of my career at Opower, a clean energy company acquired by Oracle. I worked at the intersection of big data and behavioral science to make utility companies more efficient by empowering everyday people to switch to renewable energy sources while saving money. In this environment, I seamlessly navigated between tech discussions, product strategy, and understanding the nuanced needs of our clients.
After writing software that automated a large portion of my role, I moved to the UX team, gaining valuable hands-on experience working in house as a UX designer, which I was able to leverage while earning my Master's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction + Design from the University of Washington. During grad school, I honed my skills in UX design and user research, further preparing me to address complex UX problems within organizations. Beyond my professional life I enjoy reading books on topics like neuroscience, habit formation, aging, and ethics in technology. Some of my hobbies include learning guitar with my partner, weightlifting, mindfulness, and experimenting with generative AI. I'm a Bay Area native, and happy to be back in Berkeley, CA!
